Mediation

Mediation is an ideal communication strategy for maintaining strong, diverse and inclusive communities (big or small), where people feel understood, respected and appreciated.

It is a voluntary conflict resolution process that features a neutral third party (the mediator), who can help people or groups experiencing conflict to work together on resolving their conflict in a safe and structured way.

Similar processes that employ a neutral facilitator can also  be instrumental in identifying the values and needs of a group, building consensus for important decisions and reveal possibilities for reconciliation after people or the community have been harmed by someone's actions.

Conflict Coaching

When  other people refuse to engage with us in a way that is productive and respectful on matters that are important to us, we can feel trapped and powerless to improve our situation.

Conflict coaching provides space and support to work through a particular problem, while developing and practicing skills required to deal with conflict in general.  The focus is on empowering you to make sure your needs are met.

Even if the other person is not willing to make any changes or to participate in a mediation, you will likely start to notice incredible improvements to your situation and all your relationships with individual coaching alone!

Youth Advocacy & Representation

I coach youth on how to  find out about their legal rights and build the skills and confidence to advocate for themselves (and the issues they care about).  I also represent youth in court and advocate for them in relation to the systems and institutions they may come in contact with.

It is a great honour when  youth reach out to me.  I recognize how difficult it can be for them to get to that point, so I always work to understand all of my young clients' unique circumstances, needs and concerns.  I try to help them identify their own goals, so that we can access appropriate community support and resources together. Follow-up is a very important aspect of my youth practice.

Workplace Investigations

I conduct independent and procedurally fair Workplace Investigations into allegations of Bullying, Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, etc.

I will guide you through the entire process, ensuring that it aligns with your internal policy and all legal requirements, with clear cost estimates and timelines.

In the end, you will have a legally defensible investigation report, which can include credibility assessments, evidentiary analysis, findings on fact and policy breach, and recommendations.

Getting Help

Life is not always smooth sailing, especially when it comes to our interpersonal relationships!  Sometimes we all feel stuck in a rut, uncertain about the future and can't see a positive path forward.  This is when I encourage you to hit pause on the spinning wheels and Reset.  Shift your energy by reaching out for a fresh perspective.  There are no canned solutions - but Reset Mediation & Legal Services can offer you the space and support you need to create a genuine shift.  I'm here to listen and to work with you to explore options that will work for your unique experience and goals.

Our parent's illness has taken a toll on our family.  We usually get along, but we can't agree on a plan for their care.  I'm afraid this will permanently damage my relationship with my siblings.

An employee I manage just told me they have been sexually harassed at work and I'm worried about the fallout if I don't respond the right way!

Whenever I try to share feedback, even something small, with a certain person, it always turns into a huge ordeal.  I'm exhausted and starting to believe it is not worth the effort of continuing the relationship.

I've moved away from home, but my parents are interfering with my ability to change schools and won't give me my IDs.  I just want them to leave me alone!

I had always hoped to hand the reins of the family business to my son, but he has some ideas that I think will put everything I've worked for at risk.  I'm delaying my retirement because we just haven't been able to work out this issue...
